A Free Event for Little Readers and Makers
Families are invited to a heartwarming, hands-on event at Isabel Bloom on Saturday, July 12 from 10am to 12pm – Story, Song & Sculpture is a morning of imagination and creativity for children of all ages (most appropriate for ages 3 – 8).
Author, artist and singer Jill Pearson will enchant young guests with a live reading – and singing – of her charming children’s book, “Gilman and the Green Balloon”, the tale of a sweet, forgetful hedgehog on a big adventure.
Free Sculpting Activity for Kids
Following the reading, kids can join Jill for a free sculpting activity, where they’ll create their own hedgehog using Model Magic. Space for the craft is limited, so parents are encouraged to reserve a spot by calling 563-324-5135. Please call by Monday, July 7 to reserve!

Special offer for those attending the event-

How It All Came To Be
This event is inspired by a serendipitous connection between Jill’s book and Isabel Bloom’s beloved hedgehog sculpture, brought together by a thoughtful customer who gifted both to his granddaughter – and to Jill herself!
Don’t miss this blend of storytelling, art, and local creativity, all hosted at Isabel Bloom’s charming shop near downtown Davenport. It’s the perfect way to celebrate summer, spark imagination, and make meaningful memories with your little ones.
